Jill Hennessy was born on November 25, 1968, in Edmonton, Canada, to parents John Hennessy Salesperson and Maxine Hennessy.
Her father was a meat salesman and sales/marketing executive while her mother was a secretary who left the family in 1982. She was then raised by her grandmother, Eleanor Hennessy, in Kitchener, Ontario.
As for her siblings, Jill has a brother, John Paul Hennessy Jr., and an identical twin sister, Jacqueline Hennessy, who is a Canadian magazine writer and television show host.
